What the weeks cover
Dogs are usually pregnant for about 58 to 68 days; smaller dogs trend shorter, giant dogs longer.
Weeks 1 to 2 cover fertilisation and implantation, before any visible signs.
Weeks 3 to 6 are organ development, when an ultrasound or X-ray can confirm the litter.
Weeks 7 to 9 are rapid growth and preparation for birth.
